Message strength & theme relevance30%
Creativity & storytelling25%
Audio-visual quality & readability20%
Ethics & factual accuracy15%
Caption & communication10%

Each criterion is scored 0–5 and scaled to 100 marks. At least two judges assess every eligible work and their totals are averaged. Likes, views, shares and follower counts do not count. Ties compare message, then creativity, then ethics before a recorded panel review.

Originality, permissions & AI

  • The student plans, records and edits the work. Teacher safety guidance and necessary access support are declared.
  • AI is limited to early ideas, language review, subtitles or technical improvement and must be declared and checked. AI-generated main video, imagery, cloned voice, face swapping and identity imitation are prohibited.
  • List third-party music, images and fonts with their sources and licences. Hold permission from identifiable subjects, guardians of minors and location owners where needed.
  • Broadcast permission is separate from judging. Choosing judging only does not affect marks or eligibility.
  • No dangerous acts, bullying, hate, misleading claims, private information, home addresses or pupil schedules.

Awards

Champion, 1st Runner-up and 3rd Place are proposed for each category. Results appear on the Edufest results page and count toward school points and e-certificates.

The rules document is a draft pending organiser confirmation. The closing date and time, submission link, contact details, prize values, certificate eligibility, results date and selected-work exhibition arrangements are pending official confirmation.
