Drone mission

  • Five-minute practice and motor-stop check, followed by two official attempts of up to 3 minutes each. The best score decides the ranking.
  • Use one uniform organiser-provided micro-drone with full propeller guards in a fully netted indoor arena.
  • Complete the pre-flight check, take off, pass three gates in order, hold the hover zone for 5 seconds, land on the target pad and stop the motors safely.
  • Only one drone is active in the arena. The route, gates, hover zone, height limits, landing pad and control profile are identical within each category.
  • At least 5 minutes’ rest is provided between attempts.

What is judged

Preparation & take-off20 marks

Propeller guards, battery and control link checked with the officer · Takes off from the pad without touching an obstacle

Three-gate route30 marks

Passes gate 1 in the correct direction without contact · Passes gate 2 in the correct direction without contact · Passes gate 3 in the correct direction without contact

Hover-zone control20 marks

Enters the hover zone after gate 3 · Stays inside the hover zone for 5 continuous seconds

Landing20 marks

First landing contact is on the target pad · Drone remains fully on the pad and upright

Safe shutdown10 marks

Motors are safely stopped on the pad before time expires

Each item earns 10 or 0 marks, for 100 total. Confirmed items remain scored if time expires, the drone goes down or an officer calls a safety stop. Ties compare the other attempt; exact ties share the place. There is no speed bonus.

Integrity & safety

  • Manual line-of-sight control only. No FPV goggles, autonomous flight, GPS waypoints, AI control, scripts, macros, personal drones or equipment modifications.
  • No phones, personal route notes or live coaching during attempts. Teachers manage registration and welfare but give no control hints.
  • Follow an officer’s immediate stop instruction. Nobody enters the arena while motors are active.
  • A verified organiser-equipment failure voids the affected attempt and permits a full replay. Pilot error, obstacle contact or time expiry does not.
  • Provisional results are displayed first; teachers may lodge a written appeal with evidence within 15 minutes.
