Categories

  • Category A — Primary: age 10–12
  • Category B — Secondary: age 13–17

Age is counted on 31 December 2026. Open to government, aided, private and international schools in Malaysia and abroad. Individual entry with one accompanying teacher; each student enters one category only. Owning a Beyblade is not required. School and parent or guardian permission is required.

How to take part

  1. 1. Register for Edufest

The accompanying teacher signs in with Google and registers the school contingent. Student entry is free.

  2. 2. Enter each student

In the School Panel, enter each student individually in one category. Schools may enter more than one student; owning a Beyblade is not required.

  3. 3. Complete player details

Add date of birth, class, teacher and guardian emergency contacts, private access needs and the integrity and safety declarations.

  4. 4. Battle on the day

Check in, attend the briefing and take two practice launches, then play knockout matches with organiser sets — first to 3 points wins.

Match format

  • Knockout by category after a draw; byes are drawn when numbers are uneven. Both semi-final losers share 3rd place.
  • Beyblade X only, with organiser-supplied tops and launchers of identical specification, inspected, labelled A/B and allocated by draw. Exact models are still to be confirmed.
  • Players launch together on the referee's "3, 2, 1, launch" and swap launch positions after every scoring round.
  • Players are called twice within 5 minutes; no-shows may be recorded as a walkover.

This is a simplified EDUFEST school format, not the brand's official tournament points system, and claims no sponsorship or endorsement. After three draws in a row, sets are checked and replaced if needed. Deliberate touching or moving the stadium gives the opponent 1 point. Reviews may be requested before the next round starts.

Safety & integrity

  • Never lean or put your face over the stadium, launch towards people or outside the stadium, or touch spinning tops. Launch only on the referee's command.
  • No personal, modified, weighted, lubricated or mixed-generation parts, and no stickers on contact surfaces.
  • AI or videos may help with learning before the event when declared; phones, live coaching and AI are not allowed during matches. Teachers may not give hints mid-match.

Awards

Champion, 1st Runner-up and two shared 3rd places are proposed for each category. Results appear on the Edufest results page and count toward school points and e-certificates.

The rules document is a draft pending organiser confirmation. The closing date and time, registration link, session dates and exact location, equipment models, contact details, prize values, certificate eligibility and results date are pending official confirmation.
